"Warm fire, comfy bed, tasty pig ear. Beagle bliss! Polly's on her holidays in a Yorkshire castle!". Thanks to Dan for telling us "we all spent the week at Cawood Castle. Although really only the gatehouse is habitable now. Richard III and Henry VIII both stayed there (Richard when he was only a duke) and Cardinal Wolesley was arrested there when he displeased Henry. It's managed by the Landmark Trust and, although their places are normally pretty pricey, we've found that cost drops dramatically in winter. Not all of their places are dog friendly but many are. We stayed in a nice place in Dumfries last year. Worth checking out. http://www.landmarktrust.org.uk/.../cawood-castle-6033/"
Great top tip for interesting doggy friendly holidays!
