What about the Shop in Stockbridge?
Our shop in Stockbridge, Edinburgh provides a good opportunity to mix with like-minded people. Who knows, you and your four legged friend might meet a dog walking companion or dog sitter on one of your visits to the shop!
Not only do we pride ourselves on our wide range of practical products and comprehensive and friendly advice but we also offer the following additional services:
- Dogs are of course welcome to the shop
- Free Local Home Delivery (when you spend over £25 and live in the EH3/EH4 postcode areas)
- £3.99 delivery for all other areas in Mainland UK or free if you spend over £50
- Carry to car service if you park outside the shop
What are your shipping costs?
Our shipping costs are extremely competitive. We charge £3.99 for delivery for all items including big items like beds and 15kg bags of food. FREE POSTAGE IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ALL ORDERS OVER £50! We also offer free delivery on orders over £25 if you live in the local area and we cover all the EH3 and EH4 postcodes. Where can you ship to?
We ship to anywhere in mainland UK but can only send smaller items to the Highlands & UK Islands (items which can be sent using Royal Mail). Being a small business we have not managed to negotiate a competitive courier rate to non mainland UK. Please note we do not currently ship to the US or other International Countries, although feel free to contact us if you are interested in a particular product - we will try to help where we can i.e. we can usually send smaller items like collars etc via normal airmail and they normally take about 1 - 2 weeks to arrive.
What happens if my item is damaged on delivery?
We will obviously ensure that you get a full refund (including the £3.99 postage charge that was applied). Please see our returns and refund section under our terms and conditions for full details.
Can I exchange an item?
Items can be exchanged, however please note that an additional £3.99 delivery charge will applicable (unless we sent the wrong item or the item was faulty, in this case we would pay for the delivery charge). Contact us at email@example.com or call 0131 332 0899 for further details. If you are returning an item that is not suitable we will refund you for the item in full (as long as it is received in the condition it was sent) but you will not receive a refund on the delivery charge (unless you are returning an item sent in error or that is faulty).
Please be aware that if you are returning an item to us we cannot be held responsible should the item go missing before it reaches us so we would recommend that you get proof of delivery.
How long will I have to wait for my order to arrive?
We have outlined below the usual dispatch timescales for orders for your convenience:
- If you order before 1pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurs or Friday you should receive your goods the next working day.
- If you order after 1pm on the Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday we will dispatch your goods on the Tuesday and you should expect to receive them on the Wednesday. This is because we cannot dispatch on a Saturday and we are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
We aim to dispatch orders within 1 working day of placing the order. Larger orders are shipped by a national courier network (City Link) on a next working day service. If your item is small and low in value we may send by First Class Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. All items are insured against loss or damage until signed for by you. It is important to inspect the items for damage before you sign for delivery. Our couriers will attempt 2 deliveries - after this, the package(s) will be returned to our warehouse and you will be credited for the cost of the goods but NOT the shipping charges. If an item is out of stock or there are any problems with delivery we will contact you within 2 working days of you placing your order and seek advice on whether you are happy to wait for the product to be delivered or whether you would wish to have a refund.
If your order will take longer than our standard delivery times we will contact you to make sure that this is okay for you. Whilst we try to ensure all our stock levels are fully up to date occassionally human error is possible and if we are out of stock we will contact you asap to check on desired next steps.
Please note that some of our items are made to order and may take longer to reach you. If this is the case the delivery timescales will be included in the product description.
Please note that if you have requested that your item be left in a safe place if out this can only be done for parcels that are larger and being sent by courier. Small packages are generally sent by Royal Mail, First Class Recorded Delivery and these will require a signature. If you have asked for your parcel to be left in a safe place please be aware that this is done at your own risk and Just Dogs cannot accept responsibility for any items that go missing.
I would prefer to place my order over the phone. Can I do this?
This is no problem at all. Please call 0131 332 0899 from 1000 - 1700, Tuesday to Saturday and we would be delighted to take details of your order. If we are unable to take your call you can leave a message and we will endeavour to call you back the same working day.
Do you have a shop that I can visit?
Just Dogs has a shop in Stockbridge in Edinburgh and we would be delighted to see you and your dog! The shop is based at 14 Deanhaugh Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, EH4 1LY and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 1000 to 1700
OTHER HANDY INFORMATION
Just Dogs tries to operate an environmentally friendly business. All the excess cardboard packaging for our dog supplies is recycled and we also try to re-use packaging when posting out goods to customers - so if you receive a box or envelope that has already been used we hope that you don't mind!
Just Dogs actively supports animal welfare and we support a number of animal charities. We currently actively support Scottish SPCA and Staffie Rescue Scotland (these are our nominated Charities of the Year) and you will find a collection box for them in the shop. We also accept donations of goods on their behalf (i.e. old/used collars, leads, beds, food etc) and send care packages regularly.
