  • Thanks to everyone who donated for our collection for Borders Pet Rescue

Borders Pet Rescue are due to visit today to collect our monthly donation of goodies for a local rescue. Thanks so much to everyone who donated to the pile - as always your generosity has been amazing and I am sure it will be very much appreciated by the Rescue. We have yet to allocate a local rescue to support next month so if you know of one that is in need of donated items please feel free to let us know x

  • Business as usual after our hiccup following downpour

We are back up and running after our early closure on Sunday due to the building roof leak - phew :-) Once again thanks to everyone for their support and understanding. We still have an issue with the lighting in the front shop (hopefully being fixed today) so apologies in advance if you are visiting for things being less bright than normal.

  • Fairtrade beaded collars also available in Sighthound style

Our fairtraide beaded leather sighthound collars are ethically sourced from Kenya where they are hand made by local fairtrade artisans providing valuable work within the community. We also have standard (non-sighthound) collars available in this style, both instore & online. Here's Saturday's shop-dog Sandy looking gorgeous modeling one of the sighthound ones:

  • This weeks charity giveaway via Facebook

We have a fourth bundle of goodies which we would like to donate to another worthy rescue for the dogs in their care. All you need to do is SHARE the post on our Facebook Page and tell us which CHARITY you would like to receive the goodies in the comments below the post on our Facebook Page. The winning charity will be chosen at random on Sunday 1st June (closing for entries is 12 noon). Each person can only comment once and it must be a genuine Rescue based in the UK. We have created this style of giveaway as we would like the opportunity to support some rescues further afield alongside the local rescues we support every month and our three nominated Charities for the year (this means that we cannot accept votes for SOS Animals UK, Wood Green Animal Shelters or The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home as we are already supporting them with fundraising). If you nominate a rescue that has already won the a previous giveaway we will not include them in the draw and hope you understand - we just want to give as many rescues a chance as possible. If the rescue you support is not lucky enough to win this time around we will run another one as soon as we can so keep an eye on our  Facebook Page.

  • Maximise your Kong - stuffing recipe ideas wanted

We are currently pulling together a "Maximise your dogs Kong" article with lots of tips and advice for making the most of these super versatile toys. Do you stuff a Kong for your dog? If you do we would love to hear your recipe ideas as we are including a section on ideas for stuffing (rather than just the usual peanut butter and Kong paste etc). We often use our dogs own food. We soak the food filled Kong in hot water to stuff it full and make it a real challenge and we usually plug it with something tasty like squirty cheese. We would love to hear about your concoctions
